It is a condition of your kinetiQ.Drive insurance policy that you have the kinetiQ.Drive App installed and active on your mobile phone while driving and the Bluetooth Wedge fitted in your vehicle for the entire policy duration.
You must you notify any named driver on this policy that they are required to install the kinetiQ.Drive App on their mobile phone and that their driving data will be collected and may impact your policy and could result in cancellation.
A Bluetooth Wedge will be delivered to the postal address registered on your policy. You agree to install the Bluetooth Wedge in your vehicle on receipt by following the installation guide provided by kinetiQ.Drive.
Once installed the kinetiQ.Drive App must remain active on your mobile phone in the car when driving. You will be notified when the kinetiQ.Drive App is not active and recording trips and it is your responsibility to resolve any issues. If you suspect that the kinetiQ.Drive App is not installed correctly or not recording trips you must notify kinetiQ.Drive immediately on 01992 566925.
You are responsible for transferring the Bluetooth Wedge to any new vehicle after a change of vehicle or windscreen replacement during the term of the policy. Guidance will be provided by kinetiQ.Drive on the process of transferring and reinstalling the Bluetooth Wedge.
If you drive your vehicle after the installation period of 7 days without installing the Telematics Wedge in your vehicle and installing and activating the kinetiQ.Drive App or in the knowledge that the kinetiQ.Drive App is not functioning properly your policy may be cancelled in accordance with our cancellation terms and it may affect the indemnity provided in the event of a claim.
Collection and Use of Telematics Data
The kinetiQ.Drive App collects information about the way you drive (the Telematics Data) including the speed, location and orientation of your vehicle. It is a condition of this policy that you consent for us to collect the Telematics Data and use it for the following reasons:
- understand and assess your driving behaviour and provide you feedback, in particular compliance with speed limits;
- identify the locations and times during which your vehicle is used and parked overnight
- the way in which it is driven and where and when it is driven; and
- to provide further clarification as to the circumstance of a claim if you make a claim under the policy; and
- to contribute towards the calculation of renewal premiums based on the information collected.
Poor driving behaviour, and in particular extreme speeding or consistent high speeding, may result in the withdrawal of cover under our terms of cancellation.
You will be able to view feedback on your driving behaviour and your history of any trips and mileage driven in the kinetiQ.Drive App. You will be sent alerts via the kinetiQ.Drive App to draw your attention to any poor driving behaviour such as speeding.
Following policy cancellation or lapse, the kinetiQ.Drive App will no longer record or transmit the Telematics Data and can be uninstalled from the phone and the Bluetooth Wedge removed from the vehicle.
